(More customer reviews)Yet another celebrity fragrance hits the shelves, and with some rather specific tones "M" could fall foul of the fragrance market. However - much like Mariah Carey's musical career this scent - despite criticisms and detractors - has what it takes to last long after other fragrances are no longer in demand. Miss Carey certainly has her share of devoted fans who will pay the slightly inflated price just to own a scent that encapsulates Mariah's childhood memories and favorite vacation spots, but it is in the multiple and sometimes outlandish notes of the perfume that the secret to its success will lie. The fragrance appears initially (though not overly) sweet (marshmallows) and warm, reminiscent of a bubble gum body spray pre-teens will load up on to make the boys swoon at junior prom. It's as the fragrance develops and settles (after even a few minutes) where the remaining notes develop and the moroccan incense and tiare flower bring depth and age to the fragrance bringing to mind a more mature 40 something making the extra effort to smell classy on her first date in a while! Unlike many celeb perfumes - Mariah Carey apparently worked very closely with Elizabeth Arden to produce this perfume and "composed it as she does her songs". It seems almost poetic then that the fragrance has the appeal to draw in fans one wouldn't usually expect to buy a celeb perfume, and like her multi-octave voice - has enough range to strike a chord with any age group.
