(More customer reviews)I have used this product twice this summer. The first time I used it, I applied GENEROUSLY 30 minutes before exposure to the sun and took my 3 kids to the pool. I noticed they were getting pink and reapplied GENEROUSLY after 2 hours. All 3 of my kids were burnt!! I tried it again today but reapplied after only one hour and my kids still have red cheeks and shoulders. I threw the can away as soon as I got home.

this one feels good, does the job with SPF 30 and did not exacerbate any breakouts.
loving the avene line altogher for sensitive skin !!!

( it does feel creamy, unlikne some of the gels and if you're looking for 100% grease free this may not be it ?!)

(More customer reviews)I purchased this sunscreen after reading reviews on the Environmental Work Groups sunscreen guide. I was looking for something that wasn't laden with cancer causing agents, but I really prefer a spray than a rub on kind of sunscreen. Though this wasn't at the very top of EWG's list, it rated fairly well, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm extremely pale skinned and freckled all over, so I burn pretty easily, even when only spending a few minutes in direct light. I wore this for the first time about a week ago while riding my bicycle for a couple of hours, and managed to make it home without burns (save for the spot on my back/neck that I missed -oops!). I think it does the job well and I like that there isn't an obnoxious scent attached to it. The fragrance free is wonderful!
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, merely because I think it's a bit pricey for the size, but then again, I'm not sure one can put a price tag on the avoidance of skin cancer and burns. I think it's worth giving a try.

(More customer reviews)We bought this at Kings Dominion when we realized we left out Banana Boat spray in the car. I love PJ's adult sunscreen so I was happy to see that they made a kids version. After spending the whole day at the park in the balzing sun and VA heat PJ is the only sunscreen that protected my daughter's skin. We've used the Babies are us brand, Coppertone & Banana Boat and none of them ever kept her arms from turning red. PJ is the only one that works exceptionally well. Too bad it's so hard to find in the stores. I've been searching for another bottle all summer and so far Amazon is the only place I've been able to find it.

(More customer reviews)It is VERY difficult to find a hi PPD sunscreen (measure of UVA rays = limited to European products at this time as most US sunscreens have low PPDs and SPF only measures UVB rays). I have melasma = hi PPD is a must to keep melasma from getting worse.I also use mineral makeup that contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. One of those 2 (can never remember which one) destabilizes avobenzone - one of the most common SS ingredients. Therefore, I"m limited to avobenzone-free SS for my face. Also, since oxybenzone is an endocrine disrupter, I want a SS that is free of that too. This version that I have is avobenzone and oxybenzone free and I love it - keeps my melasma from worsening, provides WONDERFUL protection (approx 28 - 30 PPD) along w/ the 50 spf. Doubles as my daily moisturizer and it dries to a nice matte finish which is perfect to go under my mineral makeup.However, Avene has d/c this version and their current product w/ the same name now contains Avobenzone = once my 3 tubes are gone, I will have to find another SS to use.

(More customer reviews)My family and I were in Rome, Italy one hot, late July and we forgot the sunscreen to use for us and my 12 month old son. So, we walked into the Pharmacia and asked for kids sunscreen. This Avene product is what they gave us. We walked everywhere in Rome, never once using the train and we were staying about 2 miles from the historic site in Rome. So, there was a lot of walking and a lot of time spent in the sun.
On the first day we noticed no one got burnt or even had a tan line. The second day- same thing. And in Rome, in July, that seemed unthinkable. We were there for five days and it was so hot we even dunked my 12 month old in the fountains to cool off and the sunscreen still stayed on and protected. My son also has extremely sensitive skin and bad eczema and this added extra moisture too.
We were so excited to see that we could buy it in America we bought two bottles. We all use it adults and children. I would not say it goes a long way but, I would also not say it is used quickly-all depends on how often you put it on. We bought two for the summer as we have a pool we go to once a week and we may have some left over. When we used it in rome, this size for all three of us (2 adults and one toddler) only used about half over a five day period and we put it on everyday.
IT is the ONLY sunblock we buy. You really cannot go wrong.

Kinesys SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray - Kids Review

(More customer reviews)I bought both this and the KineSYS sunscreen for adults after seeing that it was the only spray sunscreen recommended by the Environmental Working Group as low hazard and highly effective. Ever since I read that a person's lifetime risk of developing skin cancer is increased exponentially whenever you get a sunburn at a very young age, I've been applying sunblock to my child very liberally. In my research, I learned that not all sunscreens are created equal. Not all have UVA protection; many contain ingredients that are carcinogenic; some sunblocks break down in the sun or are unstable when in combination with the other ingredients in that product; and generally speaking many products have misleading advertising claims. Using the EWG's recommendations as a guide, I found this spray sunblock on Amazon.
I've been thrilled with the results so far. Unlike my prior experiences, this one actually sprays on. (Other "spray" sunblocks, like Banana Boat, spray on a thick cream which you still have to rub in like a lotion.) KineSYS spritzes on with a pump similar to non-aerosol hairsprays. Though the amount of fluid that spritzes out is somewhat significant, so I usually rub it in anyways, but it's closer to rubbing in water than a lotion. (It's very slightly greasy, but dries immediately, and leaves no greasy residue.) It also sprays on clear, so if you didn't want to rub it in, it would be fine. (I do spray it into my hand and rub it onto my daughter's face, rather than spraying it directly onto her face.)
My daughter has endured the scorching sun of the desert for two weeks and barely got darker with the use of this product. And it has cut the amount of time it takes to apply sunblock to a toddler in half--which makes it easier for me to convince her that it's time to reapply every couple hours. The main drawback is that it's a lot more expensive than I'd like to spend for a sunblock, but considering all the potential drawbacks of the alternatives, it's not too much to pay. (And for those who are wondering, there IS a slight difference in the non-active ingredients between the kids' sunblock and the adult version also produced by KineSYS.)
The 4 ounce bottle is small, but since it's a liquid, it goes further than larger lotion bottles. I went through maybe one and a quarter bottles for the entire summer, though we didn't spend a lot of time at the pool or the beach.
