Overall this is good stuff, but you can get it for cheaper in the store. I got it for $8.99 at Target.

(More customer reviews)We've been using Neutrogena sunblocks in the summer for several years now and, given that most of our summers are spent in the sun, by the pool or at the beach, I think I have some authority to state that I am happy with this product.
The SPF 70 spray features:
- UVA/UVB protection
- Helioplex for keeping the product effective longer
- a very fine dry mist
- discreet, sexy odor
- seems to stay effective for several hours
- I don't need to re-apply it after swimming
I disagree with the maker's claim that it 'resists running into eyes'. My personal experience is that you should not apply this anywhere near your eyes unless you have easy access to an abundant water supply to wash it off. Use some dry stick for the areas near your eyes or for your entire face if possible.
Besides that, this is definitely our favorite sunblock. We buy a dozen or so spray cans of various SPF levels (we use SPF 70 in Florida and mostly SPF 45 when in our less tropical Pennsylvania) and a few sticks and out family of 5 is good for the season. We haven't experienced any sunburns lately.
Since this is THE sunblock we use and we don't use anything else, I am compelled to award this product the 5 stars it clearly deserves.

True story. I know it's true because it happened to me, a few days ago.
One lazy Saturday afternoon, having completed my 100 or so laps, I am in the back of the house, reading a book and sipping some drink, Scotch and soda. A bunch of kids are splashing in the pool, dogs over-excited. I notice T. circling around, trying to look busy, a hesitant, uncomfortable look on her face. She's my wife's girlfriend, a neighbor, and she's married too, 3 little girls, her 6 yr. old our 6 yr. old's best friends. While all this is going on, I keep reading, enjoying the day, sipping my drink.
To make it short, she seems to find the needed energy to address me directly.
A., she says, what are you wearing?
Svimvear I says (a joke, she's from Russia).
No, no, no, she says, what perfume are you wearing? Or is it your aftershave?
What are you talking about? No perfume, says I. I just came out of the pool.
But, A., you smell soooo good, says she. My husband never smells like this. Why can't he smell like you do?
Ahhhh... I finally realize, it's GOT to be the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock Spf 70 5 Oz. I'm wearing.

(More customer reviews)The spray application of Neutrogena's popular Ultimate Sport Sunblock is an excellent addition to your sun protection arsenal.
First off, a few notes on usage. We use this on arms, legs, fronts and backs. It's ease of application assures we don't miss spots that rub on creams often do. We still like to actually rub it on to the skin though as it's easy for it to accumulate on the surface or on body hair, and rubbing it in after spraying assures an even application. Also, don't use this on the face or in poorly ventilated areas, you probably don't want to inhale all the organic compounds in this or any other sunscreen. Finally, this sunscreen has oxybenzone in it which can cause skin sensitivity in some folks. (There are other concerns about this class of organics for sunscreen use, but they are generally significantly safer that sunburns and skin cancers.) So in the end, this product doesn't preclude cream based sunscreens, especially for the face, but application is a lot more complete and easier for the trunk and limbs.
Results with this sunscreen have been great for us. When applied evenly (and reapplied every two to three hours when in the sun) we have not gotten burned once. It has no unpleasant odors and isn't greasy once it has dried, which takes about two minutes in our dry climate. We buy it in bulk from amazon and save a lot over the drugstore prices. We always keep a can on hand for outside activities.

(More customer reviews)We bought this product for our vacation as we would be going to a water park one day and spending a lot of time outside during that week. I have three children ages 10, 7 and 1. I have used "kids" sunscreen on myself in the past and never had a problem with it so we just decided we'd all use it instead of buying separate sunscreens. We followed the directions on the bottle to the letter, put it on a half hour before getting to the water park and we reapplied it twice more during the about 5 hours we were there, being careful to give at least 20 minutes before getting back in the water. The can says it is waterproof, no rub, provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and sprays evenly. None of those things turned out to be true.
At the end of the day, it was a total disaster! All five of us were burned to varying degrees of severity. My husband who almost never burns was lobster red in various places. I was burnt almost everywhere the swimsuit didn't cover. My 7 year old and 1 year old sons were burned here and there...kind of like in patches. It was as if the spray didn't spray evenly and cover the entire body though I made sure I saw spray go on every part as I sprayed. The top of my feet were so burned that they almost looked purple and blistered and I am still having pain when walking almost a week later.
Another major problem with this product is that you can see some of the spray dispersing in the air as you spray it so you end up wasting a lot of it while applying it and of course you don't want to apply it inside. It took nearly a whole can of this stuff to cover all of us including reapplications for a 5 hour stay at the water park and then didn't even work. We wouldn't have been much worse off had we not put sunscreen on at all! We have always used lotion sunscreen in the past, including Coppertone brand, and never had a single problem with sunburn, it just takes a bit longer to apply of course, and that one bottle of lotion sunscreen will pretty much last our whole family an entire summer, usually two, even with all our trips to the pool and other outdoor activities...this bottle lasted for one afternoon and cost more than a bottle of lotion that lasts the entire season. The idea of an easy and quick method of applying sunscreen, especially on children and especially toddlers is enticing but trust me, it's not worth it. Stick with lotion!

(More customer reviews)This weekend friends and I took the boat out on the river to one of the sandbars for bbq and beers. Out of the 5 of us 3 people used this sunblock and all of us burned badly...in spots.
We were only out there for approx 4 hours, I personally never went in the water and reapplied this stuff about 2 hours into the day. It worked..in some areas, I have red (burn) streaks all over especially on my head which I can see missing a spot once, but since it was reapplied (and I shave my head so I'm extremely careful about wearing sunblock anytime I'm out) and I even went extra heavy on the noggin...there is no excuse.
I normally use coppertone but unfortunately couldnt find it at the store we stopped at, this stuff however is garbage...look at the 30spf reviews and you'll see lots of the same stories. For a "sport" SPF50 this is the worst sunblock I've ever used.

(More customer reviews)I've tried the Neutragena sunscreen, Coppertone Sport spray sunscreen, and the generic Rite Aid pump sunscreen. I like Neutragena's the best because the spray is controlled, the smell isn't too strong, and I like the cooling sensation when applied. The only negatives are that it does still smell (I highly recommend applying it outdoors) and it recommends applying at least 15 minutes before going outside.
The Coppertone sport sprayed all over the place and had a very strong smell. Because the spray was not well controlled, it didn't last long at all. It only lasted about a week of applying it every day, while the Neutragena has lasted much longer. The Rite Aid pump spray is good too because it's easy to control the amount of sunscreen that comes out, but it has to be upright to spray, so it can be a little hard to apply.
Overall the Neutrogena sunblock is very good. I found it at Target for just $8-9 though - much cheaper than on Amazon!

I've showered 3 times and my shirt still sticks to by back. Use the cream, its better value and you can be sure you're properly protected, plus you don't turn into instant fly paper.

(More customer reviews)This spray goes on nice and even, and it's got that classic coppertone smell, which I happen to like. I tried the Walgreens version of this and it was nasty smelling! My girlfriend would prefer unscented, and I'm not sure why that option isn't available. Oh well, I like it just fine, and the scent fades after awhile anyway. The only drawback to this stuff is that you probably can't keep this anywhere that gets very hot such as in a car (like if you're traveling).
Later Addition: Do NOT get this stuff on your clothes, it stains terribly. I ruined a white tank top by overspraying onto the material when I was putting on sunscreen. It doesn't wash out either!

(More customer reviews)I thought this product was fine except for the over powering smell. I was dissapointed since the smell of Coppertone has always meant summer to me. We were horrified when we realized this product has ruined our clothes permanently. Even thinning the fabric on one shirt. No amount of washing with different laundry soaps have removed the stains.
My neighbour has encountered the same thing with all their white t-shirts and socks now have yellow stains where the product has come in contact with the fabric.
