It's worth the price because it doesn't streak and doesn't have a strong odor like so many other sunless tanning products. Best to apply at a time when it can take effect and then one can shower before heading out as the surface-level bronzer can rub off on clothing and furniture.

(More customer reviews)I love this tanning moisturizer! I was using the regular lotion, and was frustrated with how long it took both to put on and to dry. This is SO fast, and dries so quickly that my only complaint is that it sometimes dries TOO quickly. It works best right after I shower, so that the lotion doesn't absorb before I'm finished rubbing it in. There is minimal smell at first and almost nothing once it dries. There is no lingering sticky feeling, only a light silky feel to my skin. My favorite part is how much longer it seems to last - the lotion wasn't lasting a full 2 weeks for a bottle. I've been using the foaming moisturizer for a week now and it still feels full. The color is really natural - I can't see any difference from the lotion. Love it!

The "faux tan" is almost better than natural - it doesn't have an orange-y color, the lotion smells wonderful and there are no streaks left behind. It's tinted to help with even application. I really like the bare escentuals line anyway so I wasn't afraid to try another product from them. Well worth the money.

Any other self-tanners I have used do not look natural at all on me (from the high - to low costs)...purchased on a whim simply to give me some soft glow and WOW....only one application and I looked fresh and healthy, not suntanned, soft and real. If I wanted a more definite NATURAL looking facial tan, I'd simply add another application over the course of a few days. SPECTACULAR product. Didn't leave me greasy, had zero fowl odor and dried quick.
Hard to find in any stores so, feel beyond lucky to find it here....THANK the HEAVENS for this product!!!

However, the color was nice and it lasted through my workouts and showering after about 4 hrs of using it. So, I tried again, instead, I blended it. This seemed to work. I've mastered a routine of how to get the best results. I spray my arms first, rub it in, wash my hands. Then I do my chest and torso area, rub it in, wash my hands. I continue this doing my legs from the knees down and then from the knees up. I did find that I was coughing after I did this, so I bought those face masks that doctors use and it seems to help. By the way, the smell is quite pleasant. From someone who has tried several alternatives, I'd definitely recommend this product (but make sure to rub in!).

Neutrogena Sun Fresh Sunless Lotion for Fair/Medium - 4.0 oz. Review

(More customer reviews)I came to this page to see what other people thought of this product, and I was pretty surprised by what I saw. While this is the first sunless tanning product I've ever used, I've been pretty satisfied with it, overall. And I'm confused by everyone's happiness with the smell--I think this lotion smells kinda gross. :) But that's a minor issue. I'm quite pleased with this, although it does have it's quirks:
- If you apply the lotion on anything but freshly-washed skin, you're going to get terrible results. Your skin will be spotty and the lotion may not even be absorbed at all. I like to wash off at night and apply the lotion before going to sleep. That seems to give better results than using it in the morning (when I usually take a shower). Also, the lotion works incredibly well on skin that you've just shaved (i.e. legs). I guess the pores are still open and the lotion can be absorbed well, I don't know.
- You have to be really careful to apply the lotion evenly AND lightly, otherwise you'll again get spotty results. Try not to apply any around your ankles; for some reason this stuff makes the spot where my leg meets my ankles extremely dark.
- One thing I like to do (actually the reason I bought this) is to use the lotion to even out a natural tan. For example, the top of my arms tan quite easily, but the undersides are pale like it's winter. If I apply the lotion to just these parts of my arm, I get a nice, even tan on my arms.
- You want to wait a looooooong time for the lotion to dry, otherwise it will streak, as people have mentioned, as result of contact with your clothes. The package recommends five minutes but I'd say that's a bare minimum and you want to wait at least ten. I guess this is why I find it works better at night, since when I'm sleeping I'm not running around doing things. :)
This lotion isn't going to make you very dark, but I imagine it would the more you use it (i.e. once per day). I'm only looking for a slight, natural tan, so I only apply this lotion once every three to five days, basically whenever I think the tan has faded too much. Considering all I've said, this lotion is kinda annoying, and I have very little patience for this stuff (believe it or not). :) I plan on trying the one from The Body Shop next, to see how they compare, and if that one doesn't work out I'd buy this again. I don't think this is a bad product, I just think it's misunderstood.

If your base skin tone is medium to dark, this product is not for you. After a week of use, I noticed quite a difference, but not so much as to look fake. (More customer reviews)I'm pasty pale with freckles and will burn if I try to "tan." Plus, I don't care for the cancer risk. I've tried sunless tanners in the past and turned orange. I don't want to go to the spa for a spray tan because it's expensive.
I don't need a tan, just some color to keep from being so pasty. LOreal Sunless Sublime Glow Daily Moisturizer Fair Skin Tones worked great for me. I had a hint of tan color within a day, nice and even, and it got a little better each day. It didn't look weird on my fair skin. It was nice and subtle, without taking forever to emerge. The micro pearl flecks also gave me a nice immediate glow. By the way, on my face, I used LOreal Sunless Sublime Glow Daily Moisturizer Face for Fair Skin, which did not have the pearl flecks, but did have SPF 15. It doesn't give as much color, but that is okay because I wear makeup anyway.
Some people complain about the smell, but I think it depends on taste. I've seen in other reviews that it smells like tea, and it does a little. My husband doesn't even know what I'm putting on, but last night in bed, he commented that I smelled so good, and he kept sniffing me because he liked it better than those floral or fruity lotions. He had never complimented my lotion scent before!
It is great as a moisturizer, too, my dry skin feels nice and hydrated all day. It's a bonus that it is giving me a little color, too.
I give it five stars!
