(More customer reviews)Soooo soothing! As with most Burt's Bees products, this is free of sulfates, parabens, pthalates and petrochemicals. You can't really tell from the picture, but it does have royal jelly, like the rest of the Radiance line. Not a strong scent - maybe just a hint of honey and floral, but nothing overpowering. The active ingredients for the SPF facotr are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. It comes in a glass bottle (recyclable) with a pump. Awesome stuff! I use in conjunction with Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Radiance Night Creme, 2 oz cream and I feel like my skin imperfections heal quickly and my overall tone is improved.

(More customer reviews)The feeling of this balm is thicker and more waxy/gummy than the regular Burt's Bees lip balm (which I love and use regularly), and is the best balm I've tried in protecting your lips from extremely harsh environmental conditions. Not the best choice for everyday, however, when in a more moderate, normal environment, and more conscious of your appearance in front of others. It will turn your lips, and skin around your lips that the balm touches, white (or at least paler in comparison to the rest of you) probably due to sunscreen ingredients. I still recommend Burt's Bees regular balm, or any of their others (honey, pomegranate, medicated) as I've tried them all and have had no problem with any except this one. If you were looking at this for a balm with sunscreen, I would recommend trying other brands, unless you don't mind the clownish white ring around your mouth. Kiss My Face makes some organic SPF 15 balms that I enjoy, and don't turn my lips white.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Alba Botanica TerraGloss Mineral Color Lip Kit, Garnet, 0.42-Ounce Tube & Bloom, 0.42-Ounce Tube on a whim. I've never used Alba Botanica products before, but have heard good things so I thought I'd give this one a try. I have used Burt's Bee's lip shimmer and gloss for years, but found them clumpy so I was looking for an alternative.
The first thing I noticed with one of the tubes was clear oil oozed out when I squeezed it. I guess there had been some settling in that one, but the next tube was well mixed. Castor oil is the first ingredient listed on this product and 'oily' is how it initially felt on my lips. You do get excellent sheen (gloss) off it, but the flavor; which is supposed to be vanilla according to the packaging, is lost to me. Both glosses have a slight 'shimmer' or sparkle to them. Fairly subtle though, and only really apparent in the light.
Silica and mica are also found in this product as it uses minerals to tint the gloss. I don't notice a grittiness to the gloss, which I did notice with the Burt's Bee's products.
Both 'Bloom' and 'Garnet' are subtle enough to wear alone or over lipstick to add a sheen. The applicator is slanted for easy application and due to the high oil content, the product doesn't clump or gum up the applicator.
The size is a mere 0.42 ounces, but I have no doubt that the tubes will last a long time as very little of the product is needed to achieve a nice look. Pairing this gloss (particularly the Garnet or the combination) with a subtle lip liner would be ideal for most women who don't like to wear a lot of make-up, but like a casual, polished look.

I was convinced it'd be days of pain, flaking, and all the other accoutrement of sunburn. But I liberally lathered on the linden oiled lotion, and no pain, so flaking, and my skin turned soft and tanned.
This lotion is a skin-saver. I cannot recommend it enough.

I bought this really wanting to like it. I became a fan some time ago of Burt's Bees hand lotions and wanted to find an equally excellent face lotion, so I bought this at my local Fred Meyer's. I was really disappointed... one thing I love about natural products, besides the ingredients, are the fragrances (or relative lack thereof). This one had a sickly perfume scent to it that gave me headaches and made me sneeze. Granted, I'm sensitive to frangrances, especially certain floral fragrences. This is a warning for those people who are sensitive to smell... either try a different product or find a place with a tester to see what your tolerance is. I kept mine for a while, hoping that my PMS caused a hyper-sensitive reaction to the fragrance, but I eventually gave up and tossed it. The other thing that bothered me about this product was that it dried really quickly and made my normal/dry skin feel somewhat oily. Overall, I was surprisingly unimpressed by this product, and for people with sensitivity to smell, I'd recommend Burt's Bees Beeswax Moisturizing Creme instead. It's a bit heavier, since it's a creme formula, but a little goes a long way and you just gently massage it into the skin. I love the way it smells and it seems to suit my skin type.

Chemical-Free Sunscreen Review

(More customer reviews)I love that this is all natural, and am very suspicious of the chemicals in ordinary sunscreen, but this would also need to protect me from the sun for me to continue to use it. I applied this product liberally to my face and hands before spending 2-3 hours in the May Michigan sun, frequently under a roof or canopy. I have the first sunburn I've had in a long time.
It does feel better than normal sunscreen, and doesn't seem to affect my skin. But if it doesn't protect me from the sun, that doesn't help. Even if the sun protection problem could be remedied with frequent applications, a 3.5 oz. tube for over $10 wouldn't last a day.
