(More customer reviews)I was first introduced to this brand at my local tanning boutique.I tried a sample pack of it,and really liked the results.The salon had it priced for sale at over $50 bucks,so I immediately searched Amazon,and found it here much cheaper.This lotion is excellent for the face.It does not clog pores!It does not smell bad,or cause breakouts.It has a very light bronzing agent,so no yellow or orange results-very even bronzing.I love it!Prevents dryouts during tanning,and moisturizes well.I leave it on for about an hour afterwards.Excellent for the face!

I come out of the tanning beds with a much darker tan than from the other products. I also don't get all that stuff coming off of me when I'm showering like with the other products. I highly recommemd it.

(More customer reviews)so i like this lotion. it has a nice tingle and a fun pump. i dont feel that i get a dark color from using this though. after tanning i get a nice glow but after the tingle wears off i see that i barely got any color. the scent is nice but after the tanning session it doesnt smell so good. it makes your skin quite oily as well. but all in all its a good tingle and i dont regret the purchase!

(More customer reviews)I always do research before buying a new tanning lotion, and while I get that everyone's skin is different, what works for you may not work for me, I must say I'm not crazy about this lotion. Maybe because it's missing the bronzers that I'm used to, but I just haven't been noticing the deep color that I used to have. Let me say I have my own tanning bed here at home and even so, I slacked up on tanning due to work etc. So I really looked like raw chicken when i started this lotion. I've never used anything other than DS, but I thought I would take a chance with this because of all the rave reviews from friends. Maybe I don't have the patience for it lol. I think I'll go back to something with a little bronzer in it :)

California Tan Beach Bum Rum Bronzer Step 1 8.5 Oz Review

(More customer reviews)I used to indoor tan in 2003-2004 and I ONLY used California Tan Beach Bum Rum Step 2. Now, come 2009, I chose to join a tanning salon again. I was aghast to find out no salon carried this product. I called 10 tanning salons in my area to find this product, and none carried this product. One tanning salon told me they didn't carry it because it was on older product circa 2004-ish. Anyhow, I come to Amazon and here it is! Now, to the review..
I am very pale. I chose to start with Beach Bum Rum Step 2 vs. Step 1. I've never tried Step 1. Good decision starting with Step 2! This lotion does not turn me orange, it turned me a beautiful light brown color, and I'm getting darker brown each time I go to the salon and use this! The smell is heavenly, coconut-y and fruity. I think the price of this product is such a great value. The tanning salon was selling other products that cost up to $80. Nuh-uh, no way. I will stick with this lotion that is under $25 and turns my pale, almost translucent, white skin a beautiful tan/brown color. I did burn the first few times I went, given my pale skin, and I have never peeled from the burn. I attribute the no-peeling from the burn to the grape seed extract in this product. Any product I've ever used for my skin that has grape seed extract has always kept my skin soft. If you're looking for a GREAT indoor tanning lotion for a great price, this is it! The bronzers are great, the smell is yummy, it spreads nicely over skin, the color it's turning my pale skin is lovely, and you can't beat the price! One last thing I will say that's not a huge deal to me is this. I have noticed it can leave light stains near the underwire of my bra, but it washes out when I do laundry. It also can stain my fingernails, but also not a biggie to me. When I take a shower (which you should wait at least 2 hours to do after tanning) my fingernails no longer have the stain on them. Don't let this detour you! Buy Beach Bum Rum Step 2!!

The non tingle heat is a nice alternative to some of the products that overly stimulate the skin leaving you feeling uncomfortable. Goes on smooth almost slickery and absorbs right away!!! 3 Stars cuz...I'm tan right now so its hard to tell if this is getting me any darker.....I go in level 3 beds most of the time so I think its helping, but I may just be at my tanning peak.

Over the past years, I have noticed more and more tanning salons have stopped carrying Matahari. Many employees told me that the product was not being manufactured any more.. Just goes to show you can not rely on anything a minimum wage person tells you.
I do not use this BEFORE my tan. I use it AFTER I tan. The bonzers are really intense and look great!
The fragrance is not too over bearing as some lotions can be...
This is my all time favorite lotion. I will not use another.
